The idea of not having to wear glasses or contacts is very attractive to many people. Today’s Lasik surgery technology has improved vision for many of its patients. But is Lasik surgery right for you? Here are some questions you may want to ask your doctor.
Ask About The Surgery As It Relates To You
- What can I expect as far as visual quality in the first six weeks after surgery?
- Will my vision fluctuate after the surgery? If so for how long?
- Both after and before surgery, will you be executing a full refractive exam?
- What are the chances after six months that I will have irreversible complications?
- What is the percentage of probability of my having 20/20 vision after this surgery?
Ask About Your Doctor’s Credentials As Well
Find out as much as you possibly can about the doctor that will be performing, and following up on, your surgery. Check on:
- What is his success ratio?
- Be sure that he is licensed
- How old is the equipment used at his facility?
- Has he ever been prosecuted by a patient?
Should you decide that Lasik surgery is right for you, within approximately a 10-12 mile span from the center of town there are over a dozen places in which you can consult someone about (and set up) Lasik eye surgery in Chicago.
