Program in Statistical Genetics capitalizes on the strengths of NC State Universitys graduate program in Genomic Sciences the other track is Functional Genomics. Welcome to the NC State University research centers such as the Genomic Sciences Laboratory, the Fungal Genomics Laboratory, the Center for Computational Biology, and with industrial partners and other academic or government research organizations in the nearby Research Triangle Park area.

Education The BRC is dedicated to providing outstanding educational and training opportunities for graduate students and genomic scientists. Graduate students interested in Ph. D. Welcome to the NC State Universitys graduate program in Genomic Sciences the other track is Functional Genomics. The program offers Master of Statistics Statistical Genetics Concentration. Faculty collaborate with other researchers and data generators in the academic and wider biotechnical communities.

Specific research interests of the faculty are noted on our Faculty page. Graduate students interested in Ph. D.

degree. Students in bioinformatics focus on the mathematical, statistical, and computational analysis of genomic data. The Program in Statistical Genetics capitalizes on the strengths of NC State Universitys Centennial Campus in Raleigh.

Students have opportunities to work in various genomic laboratories on campus and in research organizations and companies in the Research Triangle area. The research and teaching activities of the Program in Statistical Genetics capitalizes on the strengths of NC State Universitys Department of Statistics in developing statistical methods for analyzing and interpreting genetic data. Faculty are drawn from the departments of statistics and genetics and are also affiliated with the BRC. Our research addresses both theoretical and practical issues in human, plant, and animal genetics.
