5 of the Top Medical Breakthroughs We Saw in 2011

This last year has seen many new and wonderful medical breakthroughs, making it difficult to narrow these down to only 5 top medical breakthroughs in 2011, but I will list the five I believe have the most profound effects on the everyday person’s life.

5) Dogs used to detect Lung Cancer in patients:
Researchers in Germany proved in a study that man’s best friend can detect lung cancer in people. They proved that trained dogs were able to identify 71 out of 100 patients who had lung cancer. This unorthodox study is astounding, and opens up many other questions as to what other animals in other ways could help the medical and scientific community in the care and treatment of humans?

4) New Malaria Vaccine:
Touted as the first ever vaccine for Malaria was found, and it is proving to very effective in protecting millions against Malaria, especially in areas where Malaria is rampant. This definitely deserves to be on the list of the top five medical breakthroughs of 2011, as this vaccine is already having an impact on the hope for the countless millions of people who are at risk of contracting Malaria yearly.

3) The Cloning of Stem Cells:
The controversy over “human” rights surrounding the research and use of embryonic stem cells may find this new breakthrough an appealing compromise. It is now possible for scientists to actually clone stem cells, which would eliminate the need and use of an embryo. The scientific community believes that this is a big step toward complete healthy mammal cloning, which also implies the future cloning of humans.

2) Creating body parts:
In what seems like science fiction scientists can now create real life functioning body parts in the laboratory. At Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, researchers had created a urethra that when placed into a patient, functioned like a natural organ. Another amazing feat by a British scientist using stem cells had created a human kidney, which could very possibly result in patients being able to grow their own organs as needed in the very near future.

1) HIV prevention Drugs:
Finally, last year the Journal Science published a study that reveals that drugs used to treat HIV actually can prevent a person from contracting HIV. This new approach to fighting HIV is definitely at the top of the medical breakthroughs list for 2011.

The Healthy Way to Wear a Bra

The Healthy Way to Wear a Bra

Wearing a bra is something that comes relatively naturally to most women. It can take a little bit of getting used to in the beginning, but after a few weeks it starts to feel strange to not wear a bra – although most women don’t wear bras while they’re sleeping. If you have a large bust, you’ll be more likely to need a bra all the time. Women with very small breasts can sometimes get away without wearing a bra, depending on the outfit they’re wearing at the time.

Get Fitted First

Finding a bra that fits you properly is essential. You should go to a store that sells quality bras and be measured so you can be sure that you’re buying the right size. Size may seem like just a matter of comfort, but there are important reasons to wear the right size – including to protect from too much movement during exercise and to help avoid backaches in large-busted women. Getting fitted will help ensure that you’re getting the proper bra for you and your specific body shape.

Take Care of Your Bras

Wearing bras is also a commitment to taking care of those bras. The better care you take of your bras, the more likely you’ll be to have bras that fit well over the entire course of their life. You should wash them gently, make sure that you don’t “overcook” them in the dryer, and keep them adjusted so that they fit without riding up, pulling, or stretching. It’s better to adjust them properly than it is to pull and tug on them to “fix” them and make them fit right.

Overall, caring for a wacoal bra is not difficult. It’s much healthier for the bra, however, and it’s also healthier for you. Bras that are worn in a healthy way are more comfortable, and they generally last longer than bras that are mistreated because they are uncomfortable and not adjusted properly.

How to Fit your Body for a Bra

How to Fit your Body for a Bra

Each woman is different, and that includes the way her body and breasts are shaped. If you’re trying to find a good bra and you aren’t sure how to fit or measure your body for one, it’s time you learned so you can wear bras that are comfortable for you. You don’t have to struggle with uncomfortable bras anymore.

The Right Way to Measure

To get the right bra size, you need two different measurements – the size of your cup (the breast itself) and the size of the band (the measurement around your body). If you aren’t sure how to measure, you can have a professional do it for you. Many women don’t like to do that, though, because it makes them uncomfortable. If you’re one of the women who would rather not be measured for a bra by a stranger, you can find formulas that tell you exactly where to place the measuring tape around your body and how to figure up what the numbers mean in relation to things like cup size.

Everyone is Shaped Differently

Keep in mind that each woman is uniquely shaped. Just because you have the same size cup or band as another woman doesn’t guarantee that the bra that woman wears will feel comfortable to you. You may prefer a slightly different style of bra, or you may want one with more or less support. As long as you know your measurements are carefully taken and correct, you should choose the style of bra that feels the best to you.

There are many types of bras available, from standard ones to sexy ones to those that are used for sports and jogging. Some women like to own different styles of bras for different occasions, and others prefer one style in which they feel comfortable. Either way is fine, as long as you are comfortable and happy.
